Position Summary
The Nurse Aide is responsible for helping care home residents with their daily tasks, such as laundry, cooking, bathing, dressing, and cleaning. To be successful as a nurse aide, you should be sensitive and respectful, with a passion for helping those in need. Top candidates will provide resident assistance as well as companionship and are great listeners and communicators.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assisting residents with daily personal routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and using the bathroom.
Providing companionship to residents and establishing a trusting relationship with them.
Ensuring that residents are taking their prescribed medication.
Reporting any concerns or medical issues.
Ensuring that the residents' living quarters are safe and well-organized.
Keeping records of resident activity, behavior, and moods.
Leading group activities and outings.
Performing any reasonable requests that residents ask for.
Collaborating with management and coworkers to ensure residents receive the best quality of life possible.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
Demonstrate knowledge of basic nursing skills; standard precautions; infection control; body mechanics; purpose and benefits of activities of daily living; personal hygiene care; basic medical and nursing terminology.
Ability to independently provide direct personal care services to patients in their homes; ability to work with patients and families coping with a terminal illness.
Ability to exercise judgment in provision of care and communication.
Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills.
Friendly, professional demeanor.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum: At least one year experience in home care setting.
Hours
Primarily Five days a week may include weekdays and/or weekends/ night shift/day shift.
Holiday pay applies.

After receiving a final offer of employment, all prospective HiCARE employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All new employees are required to provide confirmation of their vaccinated status by presenting a CDC card or VAMS certificate prior to their start date.
